Walton County schools recognize softball champions, teacher and employee award winners

The Walton County Board of Education recognized an 18–1 Loganville Middle School softball team, named Allison Bentley a state teacher award recipient, and presented a Walton Award to custodian Melody Lee.
The Walton County Board of Education used part of its meeting to recognize student and staff achievements across the district.
Mr. Hobbs introduced the Loganville Middle School softball team, saying the squad finished the season 18–1, went undefeated in regular league play, and won the league championship 11–3; Hobbs said the team outscored league opponents about 148–12 and named players and coaches for a group photo.
Mr. McDonald recognized Allison Bentley of Loganville High School, saying she was selected as the Georgia Marketing Education Association Teacher of the Year and will be honored at the Georgia Association of Career and Technical Education conference in 2026.
A district staff member presented the monthly Walton Award (an employee recognition program sponsored by Carmichael's) to Melody Lee, a custodian at LMS. The nomination praised Lee’s consistent work ethic, kindness to students, and willingness to step in across duties; presenters described her as “a familiar and loving face” at the school.
Superintendent Underwood and the board offered thanks to coaches, staff and parents. The board paused briefly for photographs and then resumed regular business.
