The Elkhorn Area School District board reviewed and approved a contract with Maxient (referred to in the record as 'Maxian/Maxant') for a centralized reporting and case-management platform at its March 9 meeting. The system is intended to replace informal free-form reporting with a structured intake and administrative workflow for issues ranging from anonymous reports to parental complaints.
Mrs. Bon, who described prior experience using the product at another district, said the platform houses records for PR, student misconduct, and administrative notes and allows customization for anonymous reporting, letters and intake forms. Board members asked about data residency and cancelation; Mrs. Bon and administration said data would be stored in the United States and that the district could cancel with 30 days’ notice if needed.
The board discussed rollout logistics, including an initial setup fee this fiscal year and an annual service fee thereafter, and agreed the district would use a train‑the‑trainer approach for staff onboarding. A motion to approve the contract was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
