Oakdale staff, liaison outline facility moves, ribbon cutting and community events
Summary
Staff told the commission about a May 2 ribbon cutting for the new public works facility, an 18-month city hall/police remodel with a May 26 staff move, park playground improvements with public engagement, and the Eco Fair at Castle Elementary on April 25.
City staff and the council liaison provided operational updates and community event notices at the April 2 Planning Commission meeting.
Staff reported a ribbon-cutting and open house for the new public works facility set for May 2 and said most city staff will relocate to the new public works facility on May 26 while city hall and the police department undergo an estimated 18-month remodel and expansion. Staff said the police department will operate temporarily out of the south fire station and the fire department will be consolidated at the north fire station during construction. Staff also said that, because of relocation logistics, the Planning Commission likely will not meet in May.
The council liaison announced the Eco Fair at Castle Elementary on April 25, public engagement meetings for playground improvements at Tower Park and Golf View Park, and future improvements at Tanners Lake with engagement dates to be scheduled. The liaison also said the City Council is finalizing the search for a new city administrator to replace the retiring administrator.
