EMA director reports mobile command center use and schedules July 14 nuclear exercise

EMA Director Roadmore told the committee that the mobile operations and communications center had drawn positive reactions from dispatch centers, police chiefs and regional partners during demonstrations and visits.
Roadmore said partners were "really impressed" with the unit’s design and that several agencies have requested information on how to reserve it for major incidents. He also announced a federally evaluated nuclear exercise scheduled for July 14 and invited committee members to observe all or part of the exercise. "Nuclear exercise is going to be on July 14th this year," Roadmore said, noting the importance of demonstrating reasonable assurance to federal evaluators.
Roadmore also reported more than 1,000 volunteer hours in the first quarter and discussed upcoming multi-agency exercises (K9, drone operators and command-vehicle integration). The committee accepted the EMA report and approved bills without opposition.
