Environment Committee approves consent calendar advancing multiple environment bills

Representative Callahan requested creating a consent calendar; members agreed to include HB 5152 (authorities related to wildfire prevention), HB 5153 (minor revisions to Department of Energy and Environmental Protection statutes), HB 5157 (tire stewardship program), SB 148 (revisions to aquaculture statutes), and SB 149 (revisions to the farmers market nutrition program). The chair noted the clerk would provide specific LCO numbers at the time of the vote.
The clerk read the consent calendar and conducted a roll-call, after which the chair announced the consent calendar passed and the bills were sent to the floor as JFS/JF per the clerk’s announcement. Members indicated technical and procedural follow-up would occur as bills move through subsequent stages.
The committee recessed until 11:37 a.m. for the scheduled public hearing.
