Washington State Bar Association seeks applicants for multiple Board of Governors seats

The chair of the Washington State Bar Association opened the meeting by urging members to consider serving on the Bar’s Board of Governors, announcing that the organization is accepting applications for multiple positions.

"The Washington State Bar Association is currently accepting applications for several positions on the board of governors, including three congressional district positions, District 2, District 7 North, and District 8, one governor at large position as well as president elect," the chair said, encouraging members to learn more at wsba.org/wardelections.

The chair described service on the board as an opportunity to set overall policy, engage with members statewide and help create rules and policies to improve the profession. "Service on the board of governor provides an opportunity to be an active decision maker of your bar association to set overall policy to engage with members from around the state and create new rules and policies to better the profession," the chair said, adding that current governors in attendance could attest to the rewards of volunteer service.

Members were directed to the Bar’s elections webpage, invited to join information sessions and advised to contact current board members for assistance with application details. The chair emphasized the volunteer nature of the work and encouraged interested members to apply.
