Hillsborough board unanimously approves routine education, personnel, operations and policy motions

The Hillsborough Township Board of Education on Oct. 13 approved multiple consent and action items across education, human resources and operations, and carried second-reading policy items after brief discussion.

In the education section, the board approved professional travel related expenses, affirmed the superintendent’s determinations for attached cases, approved a lesson planner under the teacher climate and culture expansion grant, amended a prior agenda item, approved PSAT proctors for Oct. 11, authorized submission of an additional grant application for Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools and accepted related funds, and approved long-term student suspensions whose names are on file with the superintendent. The board then approved human-resources items including resignations, leaves, appointments, transfers, revised coverage and mentor assignments, bus-driver hours, intramural and co-curricular advisors and extra coverage.

Operations approvals included monthly financial reports, line-item transfers, acceptance of donations, approval of a service agreement with Perfect Your Words LLC, acceptance of the sale of a small bus through an interlocal vehicle sale agreement with Hunter County ESC, a memorandum of understanding with a county print shop, and a settlement agreement. The board also moved several policies and regulations to second reading and voted to abolish policy 1648.15 as part of that package.

All recorded roll-call votes on the listed items were affirmative. Board members recorded voting yes included Mr. Davis; Miss Jackson; Miss Craig; Miss Lanny Beater; Mr. Lee; Miss Nurse; Miss Stats; Mr. Ho; and Mr. Marin. Where votes were taken by roll call, the motion passed with the yes votes listed above. Several motions were moved and seconded with no further discussion.
