Antioch Unified board approves employment agreement for Dr. Camille Johnson as associate superintendent of human resources

The Antioch Unified School District board unanimously approved an employment agreement for Dr. Camille Johnson to serve as associate superintendent of human resources, the board announced after public session.

Superintendent Dr. Darnice Williams presented the agreement and asked trustees to consider the contract, noting it had been discussed at a prior meeting and was brought back to provide an oral summary before final approval. "We bring again the proposed agreement for the associate superintendent of human resources position," Dr. Williams said as she introduced the item for board consideration.

The board summary of material terms states the agreement runs from Aug. 18, 2025, through June 30, 2027, requires 260 work days per year, and lists a base annual salary of $300,722. The summary also notes 12 work days of paid sick leave per year, district contributions toward health and welfare premiums consistent with senior management, and a $300 monthly automobile stipend for district business.

A trustee asked whether the base salary aligned with cabinet pay scales; staff confirmed the position is on the district's senior-management pay schedule. After a motion and second, the board took a roll-call vote recorded in open session: Trustee Kobo Smith — yes; Trustee Dr. Lean — yes; Vice President Roachcha — yes; President Hernandez — yes. The motion passed unanimously.

The district said a complete copy of the employment agreement is available from the district office upon request. The board welcomed Dr. Johnson following the vote.
