The Emery Town Council voted to adopt a new employee health-insurance rate during its April 8 meeting, after members said overall insurance costs remain manageable.
Council discussion centered on a modest increase in PEHP rates that was largely offset by decreases in other insurance lines, a council member said. Council members agreed the net effect on the town budget would be absorbable and moved to adopt the updated rate.
There was no extended public testimony on the change. The council’s action was presented as a routine budget-management decision; staff will implement the new rate through payroll and benefits administration.
The meeting proceeded to other business after the vote.
