Board members emphasized the short turnaround and noted the board can call a special meeting if more time is required. If the board does not appoint a replacement within the statutory window, the appointment process may proceed under an alternate procedure as prescribed by law. The administration said it had consulted the board solicitor to ensure the process complies with state law.
