The Schley County Board of Commissioners appointed Mike Clements to the county Zoning Board at its March 10 meeting and continues to seek a second member for the panel. Commissioner Harrison moved to appoint Clements and the motion passed unanimously.
County Manager Douglas Jamieson reported the Schley County Zoning Board also recommended an ordinance change addressing long-term living in campers, saying the Department of Community Affairs and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development do not permit long-term residency in campers; the zoning board recommended a six-month limit. Chairman Clark asked county staff to prepare a camper policy for presentation at the next regular meeting.
