Keizer touts new development, sports fields and parks projects in 2026 plan

In her State of the City address, Mayor Kathy Clark highlighted several economic development and parks projects intended to strengthen Keizer’s role as a regional sports and recreation destination.
Clark said city-owned properties at Keizer Station are advancing toward sale and development, and she cited a planned $11.5 million area D hotel and a roughly $2 million three-story mixed-use project. She said the slow, multi-decade buildout of Keizer Station is reaching its final lots and that private investment is returning to retail and medical sectors.
On parks, Clark announced Bob Newton Family Park phase 2 will enter construction this year, and that phase 3 of Keizer Turf Fields will add restrooms, concessions, paved parking and pathways. The Claggett Creek wetlands boardwalk and the newly managed Keizer Little League Park under Sports Facilities Company were also noted as projects expected to increase regional visitation.
Clark framed sports tourism as part of Keizer’s economic strategy, saying completed sports amenities and festival programming (including KeizerFest) draw thousands of visitors and benefit local businesses.
