Schley County commissioners voted Nov. 13 to accept Harpers' bid for the current Golden Triangle road project and to defer two roads until more funding is secured.
County Manager Douglas Jamieson listed the roads included in the project—Kirby Road (sites one and two), S.T. Harper, Marvin Murphy (sites one and two), W.J. Story, and Mt. Zion/Bailey—and said Possum Trot and Minter Roads were pulled from the work plan pending additional funds. Jamieson reported Harpers submitted the lowest bid and that Golden Triangle officials were satisfied with the result.
Commissioner Barrineau moved to accept Harpers' bid; Commissioner Harrison seconded and the motion passed with all commissioners in favor.
The board did not discuss award contract specifics at the meeting. Jamieson said work coordination and additional site visits with contractors had already occurred, and staff will return with contract documents and schedules for board review.
