Black Hawk County’s Board of Health approved disbursements and reviewed the financial report during its March 25 meeting.
Todd Parsons reviewed disbursements and presented the Financial Report dated March 19, 2026. The board voted to approve payment of bills as presented (motion by Melissa Clark, second by Rosario Garcia Fino).
Supervisor Chris Schwartz briefed the board on the county budget process, saying the first required budget hearing had included confusion about property-tax implications tied to state communications. Schwartz confirmed two upcoming dates: a public information session on April 13 at 4 p.m. (location to be determined) and the final budget-adoption hearing on April 21 at 9 a.m. He also urged retaining paid intern positions in the county budget to match other departments.
No formal county budget votes occurred in this meeting; the board approved routine financial items and noted the upcoming county budget schedule.
