Board tables immunizations position statement for rewrite to better link requirements to public health benefits

The Black Hawk County Board of Health discussed revisions to an Immunizations Position Statement at its March 25 meeting and voted to table the document for further editing.
Members said the draft needed clearer language, less redundancy and stronger justification for any recommendation related to vaccination requirements. The board also asked that the statement be written at an appropriate grade level for decision-makers so that its recommendations and underlying public-health rationale are easier to follow.
Dr. Adam Roise moved to table the position statement; Vice-Chair Rosario Garcia Fino seconded and the motion carried. The board did not adopt content changes at this meeting and directed staff to return with revisions.
