Landfill fees: The board held a public hearing on proposed changes to commercial and residential landfill tipping fees. Town staff presented proposed commercial fee adjustments and described a residential proposal in which residential tipping would not be charged at point of drop-off (residential waste covered by the general fund). The board discussed operational caps (a 100‑ton soft cap for certain contractors) and communication protocols for after‑hours leaf/yard drop‑offs; the fee changes were approved unanimously.
Wine festival charitable license: Licensing staff reported requested documentation showing that charitable donations associated with the Nantucket Wine & Food Festival totaled $85,700 (reported as 55% of specified sales). The town accepted the documentation on file and the board approved the charitable wine license for scheduled festival dates (May 27–31, 2026), with one board member recused on that item.
Outcomes: All three items carried by unanimous or near‑unanimous votes. The Stardust public assembly approval was conditioned on completion of departmental inspections and permits; DPW and licensing staff will continue to coordinate compliance and reporting.
