Weber County says it signed contract to host LGT Men’s World Curling; state gave $3.8 million for venue upgrades

Commissioner Bolos announced that Weber County has signed a three‑way contract to host the LGT Men’s World Curling Championship at the Ogden Ice Sheet.

Marty Smith, director of Culture, Parks and Recreation, said the agreement binds the county, the Ice Sheet venue, Ogden City and the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation alongside several partners, and that additional partners include Visit Ogden, the Utah Sports Commission, Weber State University and the Gold Foundation. "You signed a contract, a three‑way contract to host LGT Men's World Curling," Smith said, describing the arrangement as a coordinated partnership among public and nonprofit organizers.
