Hampton City School Board honors middle‑school volleyball champions and approves routine items

On procedural business, the board adopted the meeting agenda as presented (motion moved by Mr. Fan and seconded by Mr. Samuels) with recorded affirmative votes from Miss Afanja, Dr. Banks Gray, Mr. Samuels, Dr. Woodhouse and Dr. Mason. The consent agenda (personnel report and minutes from March 4, 2026) was likewise approved by roll call with the same recorded voting pattern. The board approved items 6.01 (certification of the closed session) and 6.02 (school improvement grant update) as a block by roll call vote.
The public hearing on the superintendent’s proposed budget was opened and no public speakers were present; the board scheduled a continued public hearing on the budget for March 18 at Jones Magnet Middle School.
