Riverside Parks announces spring egg hunts, new weekly newsletter and summer brochure

Assistant Director Megan Cisa briefed the Village of Riverside Board of Trustees on Parks & Recreation programming for spring and summer during the March 19 meeting.
Cisa outlined the schedule and audiences: a teen flashlight egg hunt for ages 11–15 on Thursday, March 26 at Indian Gardens; the annual egg hunt for children 10 and under on Saturday, March 28 at Big Ballpark (events start promptly at 10 a.m.); and a "golden egg" hunt series March 31–April 2 in which newly hidden golden eggs will be eligible for a $10 parks and recreation certificate. She also previewed adult programming (cardio kickboxing, weight training, Zumba, yoga, a Mother's Day paint-and-sip and tournaments) and youth offerings (spring-break art camp, flag football and spring soccer), and said the department’s summer program brochure will be released in May.
Cisa announced a new weekly newsletter for Riverside Parks & Recreation, to be released every Tuesday by email; residents can sign up using a QR code posted on the Riverside Parks & Recreation Facebook page and the village Facebook page.
Trustees praised the department’s implementation of the parks master plan, noted funding pipeline items for Turtle Park and Ble Park, and discussed the possibility of zoning for parks and open space. Cisa said the department will share program signup details and the summer brochure once available.
