The Borough Council of New Providence approved items 1 through 17 on the consent agenda at its regular meeting, carrying a roll-call vote after the public-comment period closed.
The consent package included multiple finance and administrative measures: refunds for duplicate tax payments (Resolution 2026-086); amendment of the term for part-time Deputy Tax Assessor Tim O'Coner (Resolution 2026-087); a trust-fund transfer to reserve accounts for insurance and snow-removal costs (Resolution 2026-088); and an emergency temporary appropriation to expand 2026 municipal budget coverage for police equipment, maintenance and vehicles (Resolution 2026-089). The council also authorized payment of the bills-payable list (Resolution 2026-090), which included large disbursements to the County of Union and other vendors.
Councilors moved and seconded the motion to approve the grouped items. The mayor called the roll; members recorded their assent and the motion carried. The meeting record shows no public speakers during the public-comment period prior to the vote.
Next procedural steps include the usual administrative processing of the appropriation and payment authorizations and any required state filings for the amended tax-assessor term and emergency appropriations.
