Bellmawr council approves park lights, trash cans and a splash pad; mayor breaks ties on two measures

The Bellmawr Borough Council approved several resolutions during its meeting, including installation of lights at City Fields and a package of consent-agenda items and bills.
Resolution SG125 to install lights on a scoreboard at City Fields passed on a motion and roll-call vote with council members recorded in the affirmative.
A resolution to install trash cans along Beningo Boulevard in the industrial park produced a split council vote. The recorded roll call showed Council member Bailey, AJ Gonzalez and Michael Farerraaso voting yes and Council member Ava Bsley, Sarlo Brooks and Arya Patel voting no; the mayor cast the deciding vote in the affirmative, carrying the resolution.
A walk-on resolution directing the Highway Department to build a splash pad at Solder Park also resulted in a tie among council members and was approved after the mayor cast the tie-breaking vote in the affirmative.
Council also approved a consent agenda (Res. 0592–0597-25) and an additional bill resolution (Res. 0598-25). The council introduced ordinance 050525 to authorize sale of borough land and approved a walk-on resolution establishing minimum bid prices for additional parcels to expedite property sales.
Next steps: staff will advertise the properties put up for sale, proceed with the scoreboard and splash-pad project planning and implement the trash-can installations; no implementation dates were specified at the meeting.
