Business on the consent and regular agenda moved quickly. Councillor Leovitz introduced resolution 155-25 to approve payment of listed claims and warrants totaling about $134,375; the council approved the resolution by roll call with six yes votes and no nays.
Councillor Leovitz then moved resolution 156-25 to join the New Jersey Solutions Joint Health Insurance Fund in place of the state insurance funds currently used by the borough; councillors discussed the change briefly and approved the resolution unanimously. The council also approved resolution 157-25 to effect transfers between appropriation accounts under New Jersey law; councillors noted this action adjusts line items without changing the overall budget.
On ordinance 1830 (final reading), the council opened a public hearing limited to the ordinance and heard no public comment. The ordinance, described at the meeting as increasing salaries by about 3% for nonunion borough employees and establishing titles and maximum 2026 compensation, was moved, seconded and adopted on final reading by unanimous roll-call vote.
Councillor Hughes reported the public-safety committee’s work on traffic and pedestrian issues and announced the borough received a AAA silver award for community traffic safety. Councillor Hughes also moved resolution 158-25 to approve an ABC social-affairs permit for the Women’s Club fundraiser on Feb. 13, 2026; that permit was approved unanimously.
The meeting included a series of routine committee reports and community announcements, including holiday events and the upcoming Santa parade.
