Board approves grants, engineering on-call agreements and refunds in committee actions

The board approved multiple engineering on-call agreements (task-order contracts) submitted by Salvatore D Porio, project manager, Department of Public Works. Firms approved included Ty and Bond Inc.; VN Engineers Inc.; Salomon and Associates PC; Civil One; HRP Associates Inc.; Frier Architecture Inc.; and Environmental Partners CT Inc. Salvatore D Porio explained that each firm submitted standard rate schedules during the RFQ process; future work will be issued as task orders using those rates and the city's engineers will coordinate and supervise outside firms when hired for specific projects.
The finance committee recommended and the board approved refunds to taxpayers representing overpayments of tax bills totaling $1,394.01, as submitted by Frank A. Caruso Jr., revenue collection manager, and an authorization for the Director of Finance to make the refunds. The board also approved a delinquent-collection services contract with Tax Serve Capital Services LLC as submitted by Michael LeBlanc, director of finance.
All motions referenced in committee reports and the consent calendar were adopted by voice vote during the meeting; no roll-call vote tallies by name were recorded in the transcript. The board added an item to receive and place on file the appointment of Angela R. Giuliani as corporation counsel.
