Staff said Bridal Veil posed operational problems for a short‑term rental station: rentals of 30 minutes risk leaving bikes on remote trails and there is no nearby return infrastructure. Mountain Village and Telluride public‑works staff are still assessing locations, and Mountain Village indicated it is not ready to operate stations at this time. The vendor team considered Lawson Hill and a Mil Creek Park‑area site as alternatives.
Staff noted questions remain around management (town or private contractor), helmets, storage and off‑season logistics for a seasonal resort community. The county will receive the study’s final report soon and said it will share findings with the commission; county staff also plans to install a simple bike rack at the Bridal Veil East End parking lot in coordination with local partners.
