Oakdale principal David Kred to step down from administration, return to classroom

Kred said the decision was based on personal medical reasons and framed the move as a return to his original vocation. ‘‘I love teaching and will carry that back into the classroom with me,’’ he said, describing a district career that began in 1989 as a custodian and progressed into teaching and school leadership.
Kred reviewed his years of service in Oakdale, thanked board members (including Trustee Taylor), district administrators and Superintendent Muna for their support, and said he hoped to be remembered as "a professional that cared for children and their success." He noted that the superintendent had emailed words of appreciation and that the district had been an important part of his life for decades.
No personnel action was taken at the meeting; the item was announced in public comment. The board and administration acknowledged the announcement and will process any formal personnel steps according to district procedures.
