The Corona‑Norco Unified School District Board of Education reported that it approved 22 personnel appointments and reclassifications in closed session and introduced many of those appointees in open session.
President Nicola read the closed‑session report, and Mr. Gonzolves disclosed motions and seconds recorded for the hires. The announcements included multiple certificated management employments and reclassifications — assistant principals, principals, coordinators and directors — with many effective dates set for July 1, 2025. The board recorded the motions as carrying unanimously.
Among those introduced in open session were Dr. Alexis Burril, named assistant superintendent of instructional support, and principals and administrators joining sites across the district. Dr. Burril, addressing the board and audience, said, "I'm truly honored," and introduced family members who attended the meeting.
The board’s human resources office will confirm the effective dates and placement details through official personnel notices. Several agenda items later in the meeting also authorized credential actions and administrative contract amendments tied to executive‑level roles.
The actions were presented as personnel management items to maintain site leadership and district operations heading into the 2025‑26 school year. No dissenting votes were recorded on the reported appointments; the board approved the consent calendar and individual action items related to personnel by unanimous votes.
Next steps: Human Resources will finalize appointment paperwork and the district will publish formal personnel rosters for the new school year.
