District recognizes eight summer graduates at July board meeting

The board certified and celebrated eight students who completed graduation requirements through the district’s summer program; staff and trustees presented diplomas and took photos at the meeting.
The board recognized students who completed graduation requirements through Beaumont Unified’s summer program during the July 22 meeting. Assistant Principal Jonathan Florence, who served as a summer school principal at Beaumont High School, introduced the students and thanked district leaders and families for attending.
"Graduates, you have accomplished one of the most important milestones of your life," Florence said before the board certified the summer graduates. Board President Melissa Williamson and Superintendent Kishh joined staff to accept the graduates for certification; names read included Isaac Rehea, Christopher Russell Evans and Diego Romero Cervantes among the eight graduates. The board and audience applauded and took photographs to mark the occasion.
The recognition occurred early in the agenda before public testimony and routine business.
