Douglas County Board approves psychologist appointment, sets equalization hearing date and grants Class C license for Indian Creek Golf Course

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners conducted routine business March 10, approving minutes, claims, and several consent items and resolutions.
Trustees for the Douglas County Health Center and Community Mental Health Center approved credentialing Dr. Anna Buckingham as the center’s psychologist to replace the retiring Dr. Michael Gillespie; Sheri Driver, the county mental health center administrator, said the credentialing was time-sensitive because state regulation requires a psychologist on staff. The trustees voted 7-0 to approve the appointment (moved Commissioner Morgan; second Commissioner Rogers).
On Board of Equalization business the commissioners approved the minutes of the board’s March 3 meeting and set a hearing date of March 24, 2026 for certified assessment corrections that may reflect omitted property or increased assessed values; that action passed 7-0 (motion by Morgan, second by Rogers).
The board also took up a continued public hearing and approved a resolution granting a Class C license for Indian Creek Golf Course and the manager application for Jim Nedra. Clerk Dan Ash told the board staff received one email in opposition from a resident; after the hearing was closed Commissioner Friend moved to approve the resolution, seconded by Commissioner Morgan. The motion passed 7-0.
Commissioner Kavanagh used the consent-agenda discussion to highlight a separate program deadline: the visitor improvement fund application deadline is April 24, 2026, and Kavanagh encouraged eligible organizations to apply for grants intended to support community events.
What’s next: routine consent items and resolutions were approved unanimously; the board moved later into executive session for contract negotiations and reconvened and adjourned at 10:43 a.m.
