Madison approves $61,912 amendment for Banner Associates engineering work on ARPA segments

Madison commissioners voted March 16 to approve amendments to two engineering agreements with Banner Associates covering multiple ARPA-funded street and utility segments.
Ryan and West Emblazius of Banner summarized the request: additional design, construction administration and observation were needed after redesigns and schedule extensions. Banner requested $22,512 for segment one (Northwest 9th Street and Union Avenue) and $39,400 across segments two through six, plus an hourly-maximum $15,000 allowance for remaining closeout tasks. West said Banner had been compensated up to the original agreement amount and that the amendment covers additional fees incurred during construction.
Staff said the work is eligible under ARPA and that some funds remain in the project budget. Commissioners approved the amendment by voice vote.
The amendment triggers final closeout work and one-year warranty walkthroughs next year; staff said any remaining defects identified during the warranty period will be corrected by the contractor.
