CIC reports demolition complete; pavement work paused pending EPA permit

At the March 16 meeting, the Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) update noted that building demolitions in the creekside area are complete but that pavement demolition remains paused because the CIC must secure an EPA-required permit before contractor work can continue.
Mr. Rener summarized the CIC meeting, including draft financials with balances of roughly $450,000, approvals of meeting minutes, and committee updates on demolitions and storm-water work. In response to a council question, Director Gaki said the contractor moved to another job while the CIC obtains the required EPA permit; staff anticipate the permit in the next few weeks and said the contractor will return to finish pavement demolition and return the lots to grass.
Staff also reported ongoing coordination with groups that have used CIC lots for events and are working on access agreements to maintain those uses while work proceeds. The CIC’s next meeting was noted as March 18 in the committee rooms.
