Engineering staff presented two contract-award recommendations for council consideration.
Street rebuild & waterline: Bids opened March 3; one bidder was deemed non-responsible and staff recommended awarding the contract to the second-choice bidder, Capstone and Associates, for $585,845 (including a 10% contingency). Staff also noted a separate construction administration and inspection contract estimated around $87,000 that will be handled as a separate authorization.
Sanitary/storm CCTV and cleaning: Bids opened March 10 and staff recommended awarding the CCTV and sanitary sewer cleaning contract to Visu Sewer (Visu Sewer LLC) as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for approximately $398,000 (including a 10% contingency). Staff said in-house staff will handle construction administration and inspection for that project.
Both items were presented as routine engineering procurement items and were slated for placement on the consent agenda at the April council meeting.
