Alder Vukovich, who moved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting, commented on the proclamation, saying, “it's it's a little different than prior years. I think it's a little more relevant to what's happening across the the country today.” Mayor Kennedy noted the council’s practice of recognizing multiple commemorative observances and said a Glendale-focused proclamation will follow, with students scheduled to appear at the second meeting in two weeks.
The proclamation was moved by Alder Galhard and seconded by Alder Bailey. The council voted in favor with no objections.
The action did not include additional policy directives; the council agreed only to adopt the proclamation and to host the planned student presentation at the next meeting.
