DeKalb County Drainage Board approves minutes, claims and a string of permits and plats

The DeKalb County Drainage Board met March 19 and approved routine business including the minutes of Feb. 19 and an attorney claim for $1,295, then moved on to consider a set of permits and plats.
John Hunt, identified in the meeting as an outside manager for AES, described a communications-infrastructure project “building a communications infrastructure down 4A and then up 39” that will cross several regulated drains; the county surveyor recommended approval and the board voted to grant the utility permit. "We've got to cross under I think it's three drains and then one drain twice," Hunt said when describing the crossings.
The board also approved individual land-use permits and minor plats after hearing surveyor recommendations: a proposed 18,600-square-foot livestock barn on a 72-acre tract presented by John Brandenburgger for 3975 State Road 8 (survey reported a 100-year predevelopment runoff of 24.19 CFS and post-development 25.77 CFS), a recently added chicken barn at 7134 County Road 61, the Columbbo Acres replat at 6644 County Road 27, Sunrise Acres minor subdivision, Ehorn Place minor subdivision on State Road One, two lots at M and D Farms on County Road 75, and a one-lot minor plat for Mauricio Estate on County Road 55. Each project received a favorable recommendation from the county surveyor and was accepted by voice vote.
Communications staff member Chad Trobridge reported a separate crossing job on County Road 24 and was told county staff would route the project through the office and schedule it for review.
The board adjourned after taking these actions. The approvals were routine and recorded as voice votes; no roll-call tallies were provided at the meeting.
