The Town of Harrisburg council approved a resolution and administered the oath of office for Maggie Padudo to serve as a deputy finance officer.
Finance Director Brian Lee explained the deputy finance officer designation allows staff to pre-audit contracts, sign checks, open bank accounts and initiate transfers. Lee said Padudo, an assistant finance director who has served the town for several years, recently completed North Carolina’s certified local government finance officer training.
The council moved, seconded and voted to approve the oath and appointment; Padudo repeated the oath during the meeting and was congratulated by the mayor and council.
