At the March 19 public-comment period, Simon Vandenberg, CEO of Infinity Group, asked the board to review multi‑year field data his firm has gathered on odor-control technology used in cannabis greenhouses in the Carpinteria Valley.
Vandenberg said Infinity has deployed about 250 carbon-scrubber units across seven cannabis greenhouse operations in the Carpinteria Valley and that continuous field deployments over four years show high durability and reported system efficiency above 90% after a full year without maintenance. He told the board the company has data about how multi-stage carbon and photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) systems interact to manage peak loads, extend carbon life and contain secondary oxidation byproducts "within the system before release," and he offered to share that information with APCD and OEHHA staff.
APCD staff said they have reviewed APCD and OEHHA memos regarding PCO technology and will work with the commenter and agency technical staff as appropriate. No formal action or staff commitment to a specific investigative timeline was recorded during the meeting.
