The Freeman School Board approved a contract with Dave Butzky Well Drilling and Repair to drill a new well on district property after reviewing multiple bids.
Board packet included a comparison of proposals; the apparent low bidder was Dave Butzky at $45,235. Trustees asked about differences in materials if the drill encounters granite or bedrock and were told that an upgrade from PVC to steel casing would be implemented if conditions required it. "If it goes through a certain amount of granite then you would upgrade to steel versus PVC," the presenter said; trustees accepted the recommendation and authorized the award (motion by Katie; second by David).
The board recorded no additional conditions in the motion; staff will proceed to finalize the contract with the selected bidder.
