APS board renews Indian policies and procedures needed for Native impact-aid

Why it matters: Impact-aid and Indian‑education policy documents are annual compliance components that also reflect the district’s commitments to collaboration with tribes, PBLO and Native families. Martinez described the approved document as more than a compliance filing, calling it “authentic collaboration” between the district and tribal partners.
Board action: After a brief discussion and a request to correct minor typographical errors raised by a board member, the board voted to approve the revisions by roll call.
What’s next: The approved policies will be used in the district’s 2026 impact-aid application cycle and the administration said it will continue to work with tribal PBLOs on any clarifications that arise during implementation.
