The Richmond Planning Commission voted to continue consideration of agenda item 9, an ordinance concerning 3317 Rear Monument Avenue (ordinance 2026-093), until its June 2 meeting to allow staff and neighborhood notification processes to be completed.
The Chair said the continuance follows consultation with staff and the need to post notice in the neighborhood. The commission moved and seconded the continuation and, on a roll-call vote, commissioners present recorded affirmative votes and the motion passed.
During discussion, a commissioner noted a discrepancy between the district listed on the applicant’s posted application (Second District) and the commission’s records (First District), saying the parcel “looks like it’s right on the edge” of a boundary. The Chair and Clerk confirmed the property is in the First District, and no further action on that point was recorded at the meeting.
The commission did not take final action on the substance of the special-use request at 3317 Rear Monument Avenue; the item will reappear on the agenda on June 2 for further consideration and public notice.
