During a Tennessee virtual training on the Seamless Summer Option, participants raised several operational questions that presenters did not resolve during the session and said they would follow up on.
An attendee named Angela asked whether sites that operate congregate service during the week but send non-congregate weekend bags still need 'NC' in the TMAC site name. Joelene Shearer said she would “circle back with Randa” to confirm whether the name must change and would follow up with 100% certainty in the post-session guidance.
On monitoring, an attendee asked whether on-site monitoring is required for days when meals are sent home because of inclement weather. Shearer acknowledged that “SSO doubles as an emergency feeding program” (a practice seen during COVID-19) but declined to give a definitive answer without consulting leadership, citing logistical constraints; she said waiver forms are being edited behind the scenes.
Presenters committed to sharing the vegetable-subgroup slide and other follow-up materials via email and to clarifying TMAC naming conventions and monitoring requirements after consulting supervisory staff. The trainers reiterated that next week’s session will offer a deeper dive on rural non-congregate and bulk-meal operations.
