Council members reported a follow‑up meeting with Brook Hollow Apartments management after residents filed complaints. City staff said about 10 reported issues were raised and that the maintenance manager "informed us that most or a lot of that was going to be corrected." Staff asked management to notify the city when contractors arrive on site so staff can confirm work is underway and requested an update by next week.
Several council members expressed caution based on prior commitments that were not completed. "They made that commitment last time in the building," one council member said, noting residents had previously reported unresolved problems. In response, staff said they will remain engaged and, if management does not follow through, the mayor and city attorney should engage with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) to explore enforcement or compliance options.
No formal motion was required or recorded; council members agreed to continued oversight and staff follow up. The council emphasized the city's interest in remedies that help tenants directly rather than only pursuing technical legal approaches that could affect funding streams.
Staff will request a written update from Brook Hollow management next week and said they will contact the city attorney if further legal engagement with TDHCA is needed.
