The Pryor Creek Recreation Center Board voted to forward Vicky Corlet’s nomination to fill Board Seat No. 1 to the Pryor Creek City Council, with the board emphasizing her experience as a longtime rec center user and local educator.
Corlet told the board she is “interested in getting involved in the community” and described a background in health and education: “I believe in health and fitness and promoting that. And I think that the rec center is, you know, awesome. I’ve been a member for years,” she said, noting past work as a registered nurse and later as a third-grade teacher.
Board members said they met with Corlet before the meeting and recommended forwarding her as an advisory appointee. Ben made the motion to forward the nomination and David McFarland seconded; the board voted in favor and congratulated Corlet. Board members told Corlet she will appear on the next city council agenda for final approval and, if approved, will be sworn in at a subsequent board meeting.
The seat was declared vacant after the resignation of Jamie Kninger effective Jan. 9, 2026. The board recorded the appointment as advisory pending city council confirmation; the council vote is the final step required by city procedure.
