Miss Elder asked the board to consider, at the upcoming April 9 budget special call, allowing staff the authority to add bus purchases and student-device funding if the county’s final penny increases property-tax collections and therefore district revenue. Staff described standard budgeting practice: using conservative per-gallon fuel and national-average assumptions (examples cited like $3.99 per gallon for gas and $4.49 for diesel) and projecting that the district will finish the year without an additional amendment under current estimates.
The chair scheduled a special called meeting for April 9 at 6:30 p.m. to approve the budget; the chair said two experts (Joey and Elijah) will attend to answer technical questions. Members were encouraged to submit detailed questions ahead of the session so staff can prepare materials.
