At its March 16 meeting the Hinsdale Village Board approved a second‑read contract with D&J Landscaping, Inc. (Shorewood, Ill.) for installation of a new Robins Park playground in an amount not to exceed $312,653.70, including alternates. Trustees discussed the project’s timeline, landscaping and accessible features; staff said construction is expected to begin in April 2026 and end in June 2026.
The board also ratified emergency water‑main break repairs performed by a contracted plumbing company in the amount of $38,310. Public‑works staff explained there were multiple concurrent leaks (including several on Sixth Street) attributable largely to freeze‑thaw ground shifting and pipe failures in older infrastructure; the board voted to expense the repairs from the water‑system maintenance account and keep an existing purchase order open for future urgent repairs.
On the consent agenda trustees approved accounts payable for March 4–16, 2026 totaling $1,245,053.15. All three items were approved by roll call.
