The Beaumont Unified School District board adopted the 2025-26 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the district's 2025-26 budget and approved a resolution committing funds in the general fund ending balance.
District staff reported a small update to the state Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) calculator that reduced the LCAP total by about $29,000; staff presented a corrected LCAP and the board adopted the plan with that adjustment. Trustee Jeff Brown moved the LCAP adoption and Trustee David Sanchez seconded; the motion carried.
The board then adopted the district's 2025-26 budget and approved Resolution 2024-25-34 committing specified funds in the general fund ending balance. Trustees praised staff and cabinet for the amount of data and preparation that went into the budget and compensation items.
In the same packet the board approved proposed salary schedules for unrepresented employee groups, including administrators and cabinet positions; the board discussed that the item followed a comprehensive internal review and took place after closed-session negotiation work. Trustees moved and carried those approvals.
All financial motions in this portion of the agenda were reported as carrying without opposition. Staff said any further adjustments tied to state LCFF updates or enrollment changes would be brought back to the board for formal action.
