The Springfield Committee of the Whole approved a package of consent ordinances on March 10 covering public-utilities contracts, public-works variances, a DCEO road-reconstruction grant and several police-department items.
Items approved on consent included CWLP contract awards for water-main installation and related materials (contracts read with the following examples in the record: installation contract UW26-12-54 with Petersburg Plumbing and Excavating LLC for an 18-month term with an amount read into the record; valve and tapping contracts UW26-1255 and related supply agreements; ductile-iron pipe purchases; and service-material purchases). The committee also approved a DCEO grant (no. 22-203773) of $385,000 to cover reconstruction of Cochrell Lane and routine public-works items for the Centennial Parkplace preliminary plan and variances. A liquor-license ordinance increasing the number of Class DDA liquor licenses for 629 East Adams (The Levy Springfield) was approved on consent.
Police-department items passed on consent included a $100,000 DCEO subrecipient agreement for a community playground and wellness space, a training contract for Emergency Response Team (ERT) officers not to exceed $68,220, and several small procurement and membership items. One shop/gear purchase (high-voltage switch gear) was held in committee at a councilor’s request.
Where no discussion was requested, councilors approved items by voice vote. The transcript indicates standard procedural motions and consent approvals; detailed contract amounts and contract numbers were read into the record for staff follow-up and procurement files.
