Wilson board recognizes state wrestling champion, student fundraising milestone and students headed to international fair

The Wilson School Board opened its March 9 meeting by recognizing student athletic and academic achievements. Drew Kaufman introduced and congratulated Mckaden, who won the PIAA 3A state wrestling championship at 172 pounds. Kaufman noted Mckaden finished the season 55–1 and will attend the United States Naval Academy to continue wrestling.
Kaufman and trustees also thanked coaches and parents in the room and said those accomplishments reflect the district’s athletic investments. The board applauded when the recognition concluded.
During the student government report, student representative Bridget Levendowski reported that Wilson Minithon raised approximately $104,414.26 during a 12‑hour fundraising event, bringing the program’s lifetime fundraising total to roughly $1 million. Trustees also congratulated students who advanced in the Reading & Science Fair and students participating in statewide media & suicide prevention PSA competitions.
Trustees used the recognitions segment to highlight extracurricular success before moving into routine business.
