Flores told attendees the foundation has "awarded nearly half a million dollars in college scholarships" over the past 10 years, launched emergency college grants, established the Lynwood Alumni Center, and provided more than $100,000 in educator grants to support classrooms and school projects. He credited foundation donors with helping to bring a new STEM lab to Fireball High School and sustaining the district food pantry.
The foundation debuted a short campaign video and asked attendees to donate, noting donors giving $50 or more would receive a promotional "I Love Lynwood" T‑shirt as a thank‑you. Flores invited attendees to visit the foundation table and scan a QR code to contribute, stressing the direct impact of donations on scholarships, classroom grants and student programs.
The foundation's remarks were part of a program that also included student speakers, official recognitions from the city and presentations by district leaders. The foundation and district encouraged continued partnership to expand student access to higher education, career and technical programs, and support services.
