History committee votes to ask Town Council to designate Martha Lynn water tower as historic

At its meeting the Los Altos Hills History Committee unanimously moved to ask the Town Council to designate the Martha Lynn Water Tower as a historical site and agreed to forward the committee’s recommendation to the council for its action.
The Chair introduced the formal motion: “I have a motion to ask the town council to approve the Martha Lynn Water Tower as a historical site.” A committee member seconded the motion and the committee proceeded with a roll-call-style voice vote. After members indicated support, the Chair announced the motion had passed and said the recommendation would be sent to Town Council (the Chair noted that Bernardo would receive the message to forward the committee’s action).
Members present at roll call who participated in the vote included Bernardo, Patty, Sylvia, Carol, Sally and Nancy; several other members were absent or attempting to connect by Zoom. Committee discussion leading to the motion noted a planning-department architectural and historical report supporting landmark criteria for structures such as towers.
