The Lee's Summit Community and Economic Development Committee voted unanimously on March 11 to recommend the city's 2026–2027 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) annual action plan to the full council.
Jessica Vandervort Deontiel, assistant director of grants and administration, told the committee the plan is part of the city's five-year consolidated plan and lays out the specific projects, funding allocations and performance measures for the coming program year. “HUD will announce the final allocation on April 3rd,” she said, noting the city would use last year’s allocation for planning while awaiting HUD’s announcement.
