Owatonna district reports $3.8 million in budget adjustments for 2026—27

To support more careful planning, Champa said the finance department is offering "budget boot camps" for departments, conducting ongoing reviews of processes and implementing a new purchase order system to tighten controls and improve efficiency.
Champa said the intent of adjustments was to reduce budget amounts where possible while minimizing impacts on student experience and opportunities. She did not present a roll-up showing which specific positions or programs would be reduced or expanded as part of these adjustments.
